Harmony Safari Quartet came to be as the result of four individuals

drawn together by their love of music. All are members of the

Altoona Horseshoe Chorus and sing regularly with that organization.

As a quartet, though, we have the opportunity to sing a wider variety of music

such as 'music in the barbershop style". Two varieties of music that come

to mind are "doo wop" and gospel. Both genres employ (Primarily) four men singing individual

parts (Bass, Baritone, Lead & Tenor). Most music is done "A Cappella" (without instruments).

The end results are harmonies that will make th hair stand, on the back of your neck.

Old favorites are constantly being re-written to fit the "four-part harmony" format. you

may hear some of your favorites performed in an entirely different way.

The Quartet is constantly on the lookout for songs that are unique and entertaining.

Songs that will take you back to familiar places and hopefully to somewhere you've never been.
